New Chipset in Revo iBlik WiFi |
New Chipset in Revo iBlik WiFi The new Revo radios are now using chipsets from http://www.wifiradio-frontier.com or Frontier Silicon, please visit www.frontier-silicon.com. The Revo products have always been well designed and have proved their success with our customer base. So what does this change mean? well from installs in the field the results show the effective WiFi ranges seems to be greater and the start up times are faster. So for this technically unsympathetic world all in all the Revo product line has just got better. They have the same functionallity as before of Internet Radio, favourites list and media player. The menu for the media player has a few more stages but this distracts very little from the overall improvements. |

Free Delivers Broadband TV to Vallauris |
Free Delivers Broadband TV to Vallauris Finally, after almost 12 months of waiting, Free www.free.fr has delivered the full broadband package to Vallauris. For eleven months I have been benefitting from a degrouped line provided by Free in France. The package was impressive: free phone calls to 45 countries, up to 5 Mbit/s download, just under 1 Mbit/s upload connection and a HD set top box with a TNT tuner thrown in. Until this month I did not benefit from the broadband TV and the FreePlayer which is a PC/Mac software based on an excellent Open Source multimedia player called VLC www.videolan.org . VLC in combination with the set top box enables you to view the TV on any PC or Mac on your network. The set top box has an internal hard drive and can work as a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) the storage capacity of which you can easily be extended with an external drive or USB flash drive. All in all Free with their HD set top box delivers a Geeks paradise but to a non technical person it can prove a hurdle - happy viewing! at least now Vallauris is on the map with the neighbouring Sophia Antipolis. |
